So today is a pretty exciting day for me. Back in Sept 2008, my Hazel-rah who I'd had for four years passed away. So It's been 4 1/2 years since I owned a bun. Today, I finally became the proud owner of a new bun. He's a 16 week old Smoke Pearl Marten, and his name is possibly Bandit, possibly Chester, or possibly a bunch of other things I haven't thought up yet! He's going to be an outdoor bunny, although he spent 5 hours with free reign in the laundry today because it was too hot outside for him. He's a little shy about being picked up, possibly because I'm new, but rabbits tend not to like it too much in general. Once I'm holding him, he quite likes it though. He's also really smart, figured out the treat ball in under a minute, and after I tossed his first few floor poos into his litter tray, he got the gist and used it every time afterwards. Here's a few photos, and his first youtube vid!

Thanks so much! As for his name, I ended up staying with Bandit. He's doing pretty well, I'm slowing introducing him to some more greens, and I'm working on getting a more established and varied herb garden with a few leafy veggies for him. He's really picky with new food though. He'll take a nibble and then push it in the furthest corner away from him. Eventually he decides to eat it.
He's getting better when I pick him up too, he still tries to run away a couple of times when I go to pick him up (though I think that's often just rabbits) but when I do pick him up, he accepts it and sits still instead of wriggling and kicking and trying to get away. I'm also trying to teach him to come when called, he's pretty good at it unless he's occupied by something else.

Interesting progress on the bunny front, we've been bringing him inside more and more, to the point where he was spending nights inside. Then we started letting him into the loungeroom, then he wanted to be in there whenever he wanted. So he got out, pushed behind all my barriers to stop him going behind the couches, and chewed through my laptop chord. Fun times, thank God I'd been religiously turning off the power at the wall ever since I started leaving him in at night. Still, it's been a pain to try and replace so far.
