Hi folks, Just thought I would "hare" with you what I got given for my birthday from my Fiancé! She knows I am a huge fan of WD, and I even proposed to her inside the cover of the book (we're both rabbit lovers too!). So for my birthday, she managed to source some original print film cells from the screening version of the film! She placed them inside some pressed glass framing, and put a light behind it, turning the whole thing into my very own Watership Down film cell lamp!!! Here are the pictures below: ...and that is why I am marrying her! Hope you guys get a kick out of it as much as I did! also, you will notice in the first picture there is a book to the left hand side of the frame. That is my original Rex Collings first edition copy of the book!

Wow, that is really something! I think it's very creative, and fascinating too. I wish I had something similar, I would love to watch those small pictures a couple of times a day. A perfectly healthy dose of Watership Down! And of course, though a bit late I guess; Happy Birthday.

Wow, that's simply amazing! What a great gift, very thoughtful and very creative too! Certainly a nice piece of movie memorabilia as well. I have thought about making some film cell purchases myself, but haven't yet made the buy. This certainly makes me consider it a bit more though. Hoppy belated Birthday!

Only just noticed this part of your post. You're saying that's the original, original book. This one? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Richard_Adams_WatershipDown.jpg I am very jealous. I have actually been stalking ebay for a while to get my hands on one (I find that a lot of people claim to have the first edition, but it's in fact the first printing of the second edition by Macmillan), but am waiting until I move to the U.S. to actually buy one. I am proud however to own a First Edition copy of his book Plague Dogs though.
