I'd just like to get your opinions. Currently, I have seperate forums for the book, the movie and the tv series. At first, I thought it was a good idea to have seperate areas for seperate discussions.
However, I now realise that there's a lot of questions and discussion topics that are relevant to all three. So here's my question, would you prefer to have those three grouped into 1 forum for ease of topic location, and to save from repeating similar topics? It makes a bit more sense to me to just group them now.
For example: the thread I made about your favourite character from the movie, that could easily simply be your favourite character from WD and for a lot of people, they would be the same throughout the three mediums, however if they differ, you could just list them in the post and it would make for more discussion.

I think that would be a good idea. With too many sections there are some that simply get neglected or never posted in. But with the way you propose, it would help everybody gather together nicely, like our own little honeycomb!

That's what I thought, at the very least. If this place ever gets really over-run with traffic and posts (I can dream ) I can always seperate them as needed... So, united it is!

I'd prefer as few forum categories and subcategories as possible, especially when the forum is fairly small. And I don't mean just with the movie/series/book separation, but everything. Like pretty much lumping together "News and Announcements", "Introductions" and "Questions and Feedback" into "General things about the site" or something like that, and the subcategories under "The Warren" into "Watership Down discussion", everything in "The Honeycomb" into "Fan works" and so on. It's nice when there's less stuff to click through.

Thanks so much for the input, I had been thinking for a while, that I didn't like how many sections I had on the main page, and you are right, there are too many forums for the amount of traffic we have. I am hesitant to lump together the 'News and announcements' 'Introductions' and 'Questions and Feedback' but I've had a bit of a play around and along with shifting the section names around a little, I'm thinking about merging 'The Warren' with 'The Honeycomb', otherwise you end up with a section with one forum in it, which just looks silly. Here's a bit of a plan I put together for it. I could perhaps join the 'news and announcements' with the 'questions and feedback' but I do prefer a forum to have a sperate introductory section. In any case, let me know what you think. I could change it now, but I think it's nice to get some feedback first. After all, you guys have to like using the forum too 'Welcome' change to 'The Warren' -News and Announcements -Introductions -Questions and Feedback 'The Warren' merge with and change to 'The Honeycomb' -Watership Down discussion (will be the place for links as well) -Fan-creations -WD Roleplay 'Nuthanger Farm' -In the Wild -Rabbits at Home 'Efrafa' -Off-topic discussion -Creative corner
