Watership Down on Blu-ray?

Digging around today I came across this site with a listing for a Watership Down blu-ray release. www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/15751414/Watership-Down/Product.html

I am hoping that it's true, and it would certainly be interesting to see how much cleaner the film looked, it's certainly worth nothing anyway. Would be amazing to see another release of the film

They don't list a date, but with a site listing perhaps later this year or early next year? I'll have to keep hunting.

Gets well reviewed for image quality and sound, but apparently lacking in special features. But I don't mind because all of these will be on the DVD already released anyway. So far, no news on a UK, USA or AUS version of the BluRay.

Huh, you're right about that. It's interesting that they would release it there before there was even any news of an english release. Although my guess is because the series was well received in Germany more than anywhere else. Perhaps they're seeing if a release goes well there, then they'll decide how to progress with the rest of the world? I don't know.

I'm not surprised at a lack of special features, I don't mind so much. I think my favourite feature of the dvd was simply the audio commentary. It's been a long time since I watched it with audio commentary, but I remember it being interesting.
