Well, so far I've watched the first 8 episodes, and I have to say that I am hooked! Although I wasn't much a fan of the designs originally, the characters are really growing on me. The only one I'm struggling with is Dandelion, I think it's the voice acting, lol.
In terms of episode by episode, I've been writing a few notes here and there, not always consistantly, but it should give you at least some idea of what I've been thinking. Forgive me if they don't make sense, they're quick notes and I realise that they're a bit disjointed.
CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR EPISODES 1-8
ep 1: Jumps in right into the middle of the story, a little odd, but I guess it works.
ep 2: starting to get used to the appearance of the characters, i find it strange that we don't hear much of what happened to sandleford, only that it has been destroyed.
ep 3. Cowslip has a very fancy appearance, which does make him somewhat creepy. He is this sort of quiet maniacal character, and I think it's that calmness which makes it more disturbing. I also found it strange that after it was decidedd in bobstones that the bucks would dig, they still argue over whether they have to later. I am quite fond of Strawberry, I like that he tries to warn hazel and his rabbits.
(on a completely unrelated tangent, my mum just gave me some chocolate... yumm...)
ep 4. I feel like strawberry's character has made a dramatic change, from wanting to be helpful and good in ep 3, to simply not wanting to be at all, like he doesn't care, where before he did. I'm starting to really like the team of hannah and keehar, while their characters don't appeal that much to me seperately yet, as a team they're quite entertaining.
ep 5. it's becoming quite addictive, i can see that you definitely have to hold it seperately from the film, but it's very appealing in its own way, exploring characters and storylines that otherwise wouldn't be. Woundwort was as expected. I find it interesting that Hazel appears to have a love interest in Primose, so that should prove interesting in the future. Bigwig doesn't seem quite so obedient/loyal to hazel as he is in the book, he doesn't support his decisions that much though is often eventually swung round. But I guess that might change. Keehar redeemed himself for me a bit in this episode, more of a sensible character than he has been, really supporting the rabbits and showing that he cares for them, rather than the annoyance he has been in previous eps.
ep 6. the changes in the title song surprised me. Bigwig seemed rather indifferent to hazel's absence, when I assumed he would have been more likely to go after him, especially at any thought of action. Clover was as expected. The rabbits had been so loyal to fiver's previous visions, it was very sudden when hazel just didn't care, unlike in the movie and book, where there is still some early doubt to them.
ep 7. I now understand the love for campion, his attitude towards vervain's behaviour is what won me over. He's not callous and mean for the sake of being mean like the other owsla are. He sees reason. I'm not a fan of Blackavar though, he seems a bit... pathetic. Much prefer his book and movie incarnations. It was also really interesting hearing some of woundwort's past.
ep 8. More disloyalty from bigwig, he doesn't seem to listen to hazel as much as in the book etc. I was surprised that only 2 were rescued from efrafa, but it was still interesting, I imagine it simply means there will be more efrafan adventures in the future.
END SPOILERS
So all in all, I'm really enjoying it, more than I thought I would. I think it's just great getting to explore the characters more and see them brought to life in more ways. Think I'll go watch some more now
